Safety

At a time when world peace is a wishful thought, New Zealand enjoys being in the safe, quiet and low population density of the South Pacific. New Zealand works actively for world peace and is well-known for its military peacekeeping role.

The city of Palmerston North is flat and easily accessible to walkers and cyclists. Many residents walk everywhere and feel safe doing so. 

 With a population of 76000, the city is small enough for the local police force to be effective in the fight against crime.  Compared to many big cities in the world, Palmerston North is a safe haven.

 While crime levels are low, care is needed and residents are advised about any precautions they may need to take.
